I relate to this discussion so deeply. I didn't have ringing in my ears. Being knowledgable about a healthy lifestyle has been and is important to me, and then implementing to the best of my ability... especially since I was struggling with things from Jr. High age. But, after being DX with narcolepsy, celiac, fibromyalgia, ME/CFS... I was advised to take Cymbalta for the Fibro and Xywav for Narc. Sign. I hesistated and wish I'd followed my gut -- primarily on the Cymbalta. After increasing the meds (and told I needed a tooth implant)... I started experiencing transient ear ringing to the point one day... it was like static all the time. Like you've said... "yup.. you have T.. you can learn to live with it." Multiple doctors denied it could be the meds or the dental procedures. Said they're unrelated. And, both ENTs kept trying to leave the room when they realized it wasn't surgical. They ignored what I was trying to share with them... they asked nothing and had no interest in a conversation. Idk if it would've mattered if I had different insurance instead of Medicaid (due to not being able to work fulltime)... they all seemed uninterested. I've tried spending money I didn't have trying to get answers. I've cried so many nights, overwhelming days... I've been at a loss. Idk what else to do. Can you do grounding when you live in an industrial neighborhood? I'd love to move asap, but Can you combat tinnitus even this environment in the mean time? What else can I do, if one can't afford anymore treatments? (I moved to my town for my husband's family's sake, and there are manufacturers, plants etc... in every direction. Seems like it should be illegal to have so much of this where people live.)

Hi Liam I have been watching you for quite some time perhaps a year or so , the ent says I have hearing loss in both and my t is hissing the only thing I can say is stress from multiple people dying and me feeling so depressed and alone that was the onset about a year ago January, I was on a strict diet of meat and perhaps went about it improperly from the get go I’m 70 year old man very active work , gym , sunlight and some grounding I have purchased liver and organ capsules which contain heart , liver and maybe kidney , I work hard have reduced my oxcolates and live a healthy life I had surgery for a tumor in my pituitary gland a year ago September I can’t not say it’s worse or better but remains the same 24/7 hissing from ear to ear or top of the head ! I remain hopeful and now have hearing aids as my hearing is so so they claim the high frequency is my problem ? I wanna say I feel bad that I was once banned (on two different accounts by the same exact moderator from the same exact subreddit, because that "moderator" has very low emotional intelligence and bans anyone and anything that they mildly dislike in some fashion) until I realized no successful person ever spent their life on Reddit lol Also note that when I said "what rule did I break" they could not give an objective answer apart from, and I quote, "iTs JuSt WeIrD" ...because that's objective asf, and cuz they didn't absolutely love my comments. _I still have waves from that experience though and this was fairly recently_ It's a disgusting, indignifying feeling to be banned when you did nothing wrong.

I´m used to my tinnitus after 20 years. I have very sensitive years also, but i take good care of them. I just love coffee too much, that i cannot complete that course lol. And i chose coffee, even though i could be cured from it. At least it will go away when i parish one day xD

Reddit is a complete, utter, 100%, shithole. I'm afraid to even ask anything or comment, at all. I barely use it and when I do I get downvoted for completely unknown reasons. I see other people getting downvoted for no reason whatsoever, too. On the rare occasion I try to post something to a subreddit I find that I'm blocked because I haven't got enough karma for that subreddit. I've also seen all kinds of horrible advice in certain subreddits that I'm fairly expert in.

Question is why were you on Reddit in the first place? it is not a place of knowledge or healthy discussion, just arguing and nonsense...

I was a carpenter from 2000 to 2011. I was working with loud guns, saws, and machinery every day. When I moved into IT, I noticed my ears were ringing. LOUD. It drove me to the point where I understood why people say they want to end it all. Like you, I Googled everything. I tried ear candles, wax removals, Vitamins, etc. I went to 7 ENT's because I refused to believe I had the "Hearing of a 70 year old". They all blamed carpentry and loud noises....All 3 of my concerts I'd been to in my life up to that point. I went through hundreds of UA-cam videos with different sounds to match the tones to get SOME sort of relief. I even went as far as trying hearing aids. Those were 6500 dollars. I couldn't stomach that cost on top of having to wear them. In 2017 I had to have a heart procedure. After that, I gained a bunch of weight and got really unhealthy. I spent over 3 years overweight and sluggish. After Covid hit and seeing so many doctors who did absolutely nothing for me but try to get me on pharmaceuticals, I started to see a Holistic Doctor. That was the beginning of a VERY long road to being healthy. She suggested I go on a Paleo diet for 90 days to clear my system up. After 3 weeks, my tinnitus was gone. I wasn't sure what food was causing it then, so I started reintroducing stuff over time. It turns out, it was refined sugars and caffeine all along. Coffee, Monster energy drinks, candy bars, ice cream, pop (Soda - I'm from Michigan). If you have tinnitus, please adjust your diet first. Just try it for one month. Clean it all up and see what happens. It can save you a lot of time and emotion. I know this might not help everyone, but it may help someone! Please feel free to ask me anything about my journey.
